I will be the first to admit that I am a cheap-skate. I live for the chance to find bargains. I love discovering shortcuts. And now as a home-owner, I am understanding quite well the benefits of the Do-It-Yourself Lifestyle. One huge example of this was when I invested a small fortune in insulation to stuff my attic with a few months back, and then blackmailed a friend of mine to install it for me. (I’m not the most coordinated with things like this) With energy costs going up, I definitely needed to do something to cut back my energy consumption, and my roommate was tired of wearing 5 layers of clothing around the house just to fight off hypothermia. Well, I got my energy bill and it went down 33%!!!! The insulation will pay for itself by the end of the year!! I love it!!
